Stefanie Koseff is a video installation artist, accessibility researcher and educator born in New Jersey, based in Brooklyn, New York.
Her video work explores how moving images activate objects and environments in sculptural ways, utilizing electronics and microcontrollers to create tiny video players, large projection mappings, and video design for live performance. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally in film festivals and galleries. She has participated in residencies at 3LD Media & Theater Group in NYC and her video work is part of collections in the US and Spain. She completed a Master of Science at NYU Tandon School of Engineering Integrated Design and Media program in May 2023. She also holds an MA in Philosophy, Media & Culture from the European Graduate School and a BA from Sarah Lawrence College.
Koseff’s accessibility research has focused on assistive technology for art museums and historical sites and accessibility as creative practice. She has developed a novel method for creating tactile interpretations of historical textiles using digital fabrication methods. She is a recipient of the 2023 Inclusive Excellence Award from NYU Tandon School of Engineering. She is an Adjunct Professor at NYU Tandon School of Engineering, Department of Technology, Culture and Society.
